Stairs pricing
Each surface has its own stairs rate (carpeted stairs price differently from tile or wood).
Per step, scaled by width
- Rate per step — the price of one standard step.
- Wider steps cost more (on by default) and Standard step width (4 ft by default).
- A step up to the standard width counts as 1. A wider step counts as its width ÷ the standard: a 10 ft step counts as 2.5. Narrower steps never count as less than 1.
Example: $5 a step, 12 steps, 10 ft wide → 12 × 2.5 = 30 steps → $150.
Residential
Residential surfaces can also price stairs per set (a whole flight). The set rate scales by width the same way.
