Setup
Payments — use your own processor
Office web page → Settings → Payments. The owner picks; admins can look.
The choices
- Stripe — your own Stripe account (Connect Stripe). Card deposits on the booking page, Pay now on accepted proposals, and payment links.
- Authorize.net — a payment gateway that works with almost any merchant account, so you can shop for your own rates. Same features as Stripe. In Authorize.net: Account → Settings → API Credentials & Keys; copy the API Login ID and make a Transaction Key, then paste both here. Preflight checks them before saving and keeps the key where only the server can read it. Check "sandbox" for test keys.
- QuickBooks Payments — customers pay your QuickBooks invoices online (Settings → QuickBooks → Let customers pay online).
- My own payment link — Square, PayPal, or your processor's payment page. Pay pages show the amount and send customers to your link. Preflight doesn't see those payments.
- No online payments.
Preflight never takes a cut — the money goes straight to your account, at your processor's rates.
Where it's used
- Booking page deposits (Online Booking): Stripe or Authorize.net.
- Accepted proposals with a deposit in the terms: a Pay now button with your processor.
- Request a payment: open an accepted estimate → Payments → pick Balance, Deposit or Payment and an amount → Make a pay link. Copy it or email it. Paid amounts show on the estimate; a paid deposit comes off the QuickBooks invoice.
Cards are typed on Stripe's or Authorize.net's own secure page — you and Preflight never see the card number.
