Franchise systems — stores, zips and system totals

Office web page → Settings → Franchise System (owners and admins).

Each franchise and each corporate store is its own company, with its own customers, staff, billing and settings. A franchise system links them.

The franchisor sees:

The franchisor never sees a store's customers, jobs, estimates, staff or settings. The security rules block it, not just the screens.

For the franchisor

  1. Start the system from your own company: Settings → Franchise System → Start.
  2. Invite each store. Pick Franchise or Corporate store and click Make a Code. Send the 8-letter code to the store's owner. Codes last 30 days and work once.
  3. Add your territory: paste every zip the system covers. Zips no store holds show as Gaps. Show Map draws each store's zips in its own color and the gaps in dashed grey.
  4. Set the system booking page: give it a page name. Customers type their zip and go on to that store's booking page. A zip no store holds leaves their name and contact as a lead in your Sales → Leads.

Moving zips: only you can move a zip from one store to another. Type the zips, pick the store and click Move. The zip comes out of the old store's zones and goes into an "Added by …" zone at the new store. Pick Nobody to free a zip.

Corporate stores are their own companies too. Your people work in one by being on its team (use the company button at the top), not through the system.

For a store

  1. Sign up as your own company. Set your zones under Settings → Zones first if you can.
  2. Go to Settings → Franchise System, type the code, and click Join.

Joining claims the zips in your zones. A zip another store already holds isn't yours. You'll see which store has it: take it out of your zones, or ask your franchisor to move it.

After you join, your zones save through the system. You can add any free zip, but a zip another store holds is refused, with that store's name. Zips you take out of every zone are freed.
