Rooms and scans on the office web page
Open a customer and the Scans, Floor Plans & Blueprints folder. Click a room's name to open it, or + Add Room to type one in.
What you see
- The floor, drawn from the scan, with each wall's length. Scroll to zoom and drag to move around. Hatched areas aren't cleaned, dashed outlines are exclusions, and shaded shapes are marks made in the app (traffic, stains, different surface).
- Billable floor on the right: the floor minus confirmed exclusions and blank areas, times the number of rooms for a room type.
- Photos of this room, taken in the app.
Reshape the floor
Click Reshape Floor:
- Drag a corner. It lines up with its neighbors, square to the walls. Hold Shift to place it freely.
- Drag the small dot in the middle of a wall to add a corner there.
- Click a corner, then Remove Corner.
- Click a wall's length and type the right one (
12' 6",12.5,150in), then Set Length. The corner at the far end of that wall moves. - Undo steps back, and Done finishes.
The area follows the new shape. The scanned number is kept as measured, the same as reshaping in the app.
Floors with divider lines (where carpet meets tile, say) reshape here too. The lines stay put; an end that's a little short of the new wall still reaches it (within about 16 inches), and each surface region follows its section, with its area recalculated. If a corner move leaves a region with no section, a warning names it — Undo or move the corner back and it returns.
Divide the floor (carpet meets tile)
Click Divide Floor, then click a wall and click across to the other wall where one surface meets the other. The line runs square to the walls (hold Shift for any angle) and finishes when it reaches a wall. For a bent line, click the corners along the way, then the wall (or Finish Line).
Each section gets a number. Under Sections, pick its surface: Same as the floor uses the floor's surface, or pick Carpet, Tile and so on. The area of each section is worked out from the drawing. Set its pile, grout, traffic and soil in the Floor Area card (it's listed as a surface region). Line 1 ✕ removes a line. By surface under the floor shows the split, like Carpet 455 sq ft · Tile 191 sq ft, the same split the app prices from.
Mark an area
Click Mark Area and pick what it is: Stains, Traffic, Pet / odor, Damage, Other, Different surface (a tile entry or a rug: pick the surface) or Blank (no charge), which comes off the room's square feet. For stains, traffic, pet and damage, pick how heavy or how bad.
- Rectangle: click one corner, then the opposite corner.
- Outline: click around the area, then click the first point (or Finish Shape).
Marks show on the plan, are listed under Marked on the floor (✕ removes one), and show in the app too.
Change the measurements
- Room: name, ceiling height, and This stands for several identical rooms (how many, and which).
- Each floor area: its square feet (typing over a scanned number keeps the scan as measured; Use measured puts it back), the surface (carpet installation, pile and fiber, tile grout, wood finish), traffic and soil.
- + Exclusion for space that isn't cleaned, with Take off the billable area. + Surface region for part of the floor with a different surface.
- + Wall, + Counter and + Counted Items like in the app.
- Notes on the room or on an area. Internal notes are for estimators and owners, Crew notes are shown to techs on the job, and Customer notes are printed on the estimate.
Click Save Room. The app and the web floor plans show the change right away.
Rooms scanned before floor outlines were saved are drawn straight from the scan file (walls, doors, windows); Reshape Floor starts from the scan's floor. If a room says it hasn't uploaded yet, open the app on the phone that scanned it with a good connection and let the blue uploading bar finish.
Delete removes the room; estimates already made keep their lines.
