Trace rooms from a blueprint

Blueprints don't say the floor type or traffic, but they make square footage fast.

1. On the customer's page, open the blueprint (Blueprints & Maps) and press Trace rooms.
2. Set scale: click both ends of a dimension you know — a printed wall length or the scale bar — and type how long it really is.
3. Trace corners: click each corner of a room. Click the first corner again (or press Enter) to finish. Hold Shift for straight lines; Backspace takes back a corner; Esc starts over. For a plain rectangle, use Box and click two opposite corners.
4. Name the room, pick the floor and traffic, and Save room.

Each traced room is a real room: its square footage is on the customer's rooms, ready for an estimate, and it's drawn on a floor plan (Traced: …) with the blueprint underneath. Add floor details, notes and photos on the room later, in the app or here. Scroll to zoom; drag the sheet to move around.

If the blueprint is already lined up under a scanned plan in the app, traced rooms join that plan.

Arrange rooms on a computer

On Floor Plans, press Arrange rooms:

• Click a room to select it and drag it into place. Arrow keys nudge it (Shift = farther).
• Turn it 90°, 15° or 1° (the R key turns 90°), or Flip it (mirror-image hotel rooms).
• Reset to the scan puts a room back where it was scanned.
• Save when it looks right — the app shows the same plan.

The scans themselves never change; only where each room sits on the plan.
