Arranging rooms on the floor plan
Open the customer → Floor Plans & Maps → a walkthrough. The ruler button shows or hides square footage; the chair button shows furniture.
Arrange Rooms
Tap Arrange Rooms:
- Tap a room to select it; drag to move; twist with two fingers to rotate.
- ±1° / ±15° / ±90° buttons and Square Up (lines the walls up with the screen).
- Rooms snap flush against neighbors and to square angles; turn Snap off for free movement.
- Flip Sideways / Flip Up–Down mirrors the selection — for mirror-image room layouts (pairs well with Duplicate Room).
- Level moves a room to another floor, or adds a new level above.
- Undo, Reset a room, Save.
Fuse rooms: one long hallway in several scans
A hotel hallway is often too long for one scan, so you scan it in pieces that overlap a little.
- In Arrange Rooms, select one piece, tap Fuse With…, then tap each other piece. They now move, turn, flip and change level as one, and tapping any of them selects them all. Unfuse takes them apart.
- Billed once: when you Save, where fused rooms overlap, the overlap is taken off the newer scan as an "Overlap with…" exclusion. You'll see it on that room's screen, and it's easy to change.
- Duplicate: with a room or a fused piece selected, Duplicate → pick a level (or a New Level Above). The copies land right where the original sits, on that level, with the same measurements and exclusions: the same hall on every floor. Rename the copies on each room's screen ("Hall 3 — Floor 2").
- Join (whole walkthroughs) stays on until Done, so you can join several pieces in a row.
- Move a room to another walkthrough: on the room's screen (app or office web page), Walkthrough → Move to Another Walkthrough, or out to Its Own Walkthrough. It joins that walkthrough's plan where it sits; line it up in Arrange Rooms. Its photos and measurements go with it.
Several walkthroughs
- Name each walkthrough. When you finish scanning, the app asks for a name, like Main Floor or Gym & Locker Rooms. You can Skip it, then swipe a walkthrough on Floor Plans (or touch and hold it) to Name or Rename it. Each walkthrough also shows when it was done and who did it. Names show on the office web page and on walkthrough notes too.
- Whole Building shows every walkthrough together.
- Merge Walkthroughs… combines chosen walkthroughs into one named plan.
- With several walkthroughs, a tap selects the whole walkthrough (a layer); tap again inside it for one room. Layers lists them — hide or select each.
- Walkthroughs that open piled on top of each other are laid out side by side for you (Undo puts them back). Spread Walkthroughs does it again for all of them.
- Join Another Piece (with a whole piece selected) makes two pieces one block that moves together — handy for a long hall scanned in two overlapping parts. Line them up first, then join. Separate splits them again.
Match Doors
When a building took more than one walkthrough, Match Doors lines them up for you:
- Tap a door in the walkthrough that's already in place.
- Tap the same doorway in the walkthrough you want to move. It turns and slides so the two doors meet.
- If it landed facing the wrong way, tap Flip 180°. Repeat for other walkthroughs, then Done.
Add Door
The scanner can miss doors — especially closed ones in a dim, narrow hall. Add Door, then tap a wall where one is missing: a 3-ft door goes there and moves with its room. Tap a door you added to take it off. Added doors work with Match Doors.
Place Stairs
Stairs you measured on the customer (see Measuring stairs) can go on the plan. Place Stairs → pick a staircase; it drops near its room. Tap it to select, drag to move, use ±15° / ±90° to turn it, or Take Off the Plan. Stairs print on the plan and in the proposal.
Blueprint underneath
If the customer has a floor plan PDF or photo under Documents, use Blueprint to lay it under your rooms:
- Blueprint → choose the document.
- Set Scale: tap both ends of a dimension you can read on the drawing, then enter the real distance in feet.
- Move Blueprint on: drag, pinch and twist the drawing into place. Turn it off to arrange rooms on top.
- The slider fades the drawing so your rooms stand out. Hide Blueprint takes it away.
The blueprint is only a guide for arranging; it never changes your measurements or prices.
Labels
On small rooms the names move off the plan: a numbered dot marks the room and the list under the plan reads "3 · Storage".
Overlap check
If two rooms overlap, a banner tells you:
- Arrange Rooms — they're just in the wrong place.
- Counted twice — one scan really includes part of the other room. Take the overlap off one room so it isn't billed twice.
